I NEVER get sick. It's true.

Something strange is going on, my peeps.  The body is achey, the nose is runny, the head is spinny.  When I looked at my bed earlier morning, I actually wanted to lie down in it again.  If you know me, you will know that this is NOT NORMAL.  The idea of being horizontal for more than 6 hours in a 24 hour period makes me panic a little.  I mean....there are only 24 of them!  I'm going to spend more than a quarter of them doing nothing?  Don't MAKE me snap at you in a z-formation, girrrrrrrrl!

And um, can you please read that drivel I just wrote?  Does any of it even make any sense?  Yeah, that's what I thought.  See?  Something strange, I tell you!  And please don't suggest that I'm "sick" because I do not GET sick.  True story.

Plus, oh lordylordy, tomorrow is my Lizzy's birthday and we are going to eat a picnic at the lake and then have a sleepover party and there is NO FOOD in our house.  Do you think our friends will enjoy gnawing on some stale Triscuits and eating those last shriveled grapes from the corners of the produce bins at the bottom of our fridge?  Really???  Sweet.  That means I don't have to go to the store after all.

So there.  That's your post for the day.  Have I not just contributed to the betterment of humankind with those insightful words put together in that creative, magical way?  Have I not inspired you to do _______ and to say ________ ?  You're welcome!

Okay, in the interest of sharing something on this day of brain-fogginess-that-does-not-constitute-being-sick-in-any-way, here are some cute photos from yesterday's Model Airplane Flying Party.  Did you even know there was such a thing?  I know!  And did you know that you can be outside in the middle of the afternoon in the summer here?  I know again!  What a great system- no school when you actually want to be outdoors.

Our hostess and a dear friend.  Hope she loves this picture as much as I do!
p.s. If you have any miracle cures for a person who is totally NOT sick, please share.  I will be forever grateful!

  2. Doctors have some good ideas to help people who aren't sick. Feeling much better today, I went to visit one to just say hi, and she had all sorts of insights.

  3. Sounds like allergies to me. Or you are pregnant again... Allergies can make you feel all sorts of terrible, fever, aches, exhaustion. Take a Claratin and see if it helps. And start eating local honey so you build up a tolerance to allergens in your area.

  4. Hmmmm, I wondered about the pregnancy thing too, but did not want to write it until I saw The Journey comment.

No matter what, I hope you feel better soon. It's really, really tough, when you're a mom, to be sick.

Hugs and get well wishes coming your way from Minnesota.

  5. Drink lots of fluids. Why do they say, "fluids," it always makes me think of pee and then I'm totally grossed out. I'm not Bear Grylls and I will not drink pee. It's harder to stay hydrated when it's super hot out but it helps you feel better (I get kind of dizzy when dehydrated).

  6. As much as you run around and do, I'm surprised you held off getting sick this long. I hope you feel better. Its no fun being sick in general. Much less a sick girl with such a full plate. *hugs*

  8. Julie, you know that's how rumors get started, woman! As much as I would be excited, I am totally not pregnant. Could you imagine poor Tommy having to fly to Georgia in three days after that kind of news? Poor guy!

    Anyway.

Remember, I'm not sick, you guys. Just have something "weird" going in in my head and shoulders and throat. Not as bad now as it was earlier (thank you 800 mg of ibuprofen!), but still on the tired side.

    Thanks for all the advice!

  9. I'm NOT SICK right now too.

Too bad we live so far apart. We could have a day of eating chicken noodle soup and watching daytime tv from the couch together, but not because we're sick. Just for fun.

  10. I'm sorry to hear about your non-illness. Water, sleep, a sense of humor and yes, Ibuprofen should sort that right out!

  13. Please tell me you aren't having to make dog food in the midst of this non-sick state. If only life would just wait a bit for us to feel better, like it did when we were kids.

I gave you an award if you want it when you feel better!

  14. Oh no!!! I am sending positive and healthy vibes your way. I am like you, if I feel myself getting sick, I just keep repeating "I will NOT be sick" in my head. I think it works! And that airplane party, too cool! Hope you are feeling better by the morning, lady :) And if not, buy some stock in some DayQuil and coast through the day, lol

  17. Hope you're still NOT sick today...it's the big birthday day, and that would be totally uncool. Really hoping it was all just in your head, buddy. :(

Oh, and I LOVE that picture of your friend. She looks so stinkin' happy...everyone should have pictures that cool.
