Karate boots: Even more awesome than they sound.

Tommy is in super duper get stuff done mode.  He WILL find a job and the snow WILL fall and if we don't do all of this stuff while the sun is shining and the sky is clear, it just won't get done.  Plus, you know how I love deadlines.  They're my bffs, honestly.

So today he has mowed the lawn, added a new door to a wall of the chicken coop inside the barn, applied to another job, online, and made a fence using the old paneling that used to be in the west side of our kitchen.  Meanwhile I took the kids to the big girls' (free) piano lessons, hauled them to church to volunteer a bit organizing books and supplies for this year's CCD program, and managed to get an unwilling child to write down what the dang factors of 18 are.

Aside: Just because something isn't FUN doesn't mean you should never do it.  Doing things that are hard makes you stronger.  Physically, mentally, and emotionally.  End rant.

We also read a bit about wigwams in preparation for our (free) field trip to the Kalamazoo Nature Center tommorrow and picked a bag of fall pole beans from our garden.

But do I have pictures of any of that?  No sir!  Well, yes on the fence, but they're still on the camera and I have precious little time to write this, my friends...SO WHYARE YOU STILL RAMBLING, DWEEJ???

I don't know.

So here are is an unrelated photo that I feel obliged to share with you.
If you would like an exercise in not being a control freak, ask your older daughters to help your 4 year old son get dressed when they are in one of those moods that makes you wonder if they've got a coffee iv hidden in their bedrooms.

He wanted to go to the library like this.  Wearing an infant sized bib and a pair of cowGIRL boots.

Oh yes they are girl boots!  Just look...

He says they are awesome "kicker" boots and he needs them to do karate.

  6. @Cari- Hahahaha! I had LITERALLY just cleaned it out the day before. Two bags of trash and crumbs and foam sea creatures that had been glued to ugly projects. True story!

The boy is a total character, for real you guys :)

  9. I love your son! He sounds a lot like mine. I think they'd be good friends, LOL. They could kick around in their boots together - although my four year old's are dinosaur rain boots and he wears them with shorts and no shirt.

    Rock it, little man.

  19. I think any little boy with older sisters is destined to run around in feminine clothing. My brother used look great in a tutu. ;)

  20. Bahahahahah! I feel your pain, Dwija. You know we have some interesting clothing experiences around my house as well.

So, did you let him wear them out then?
