So. You know what's crazy? When the baby is born, she is going to be a....wait for it....baby. A real baby! I mean, she's already a real baby, but it's not like when she's born it'll just mean I'm not pregnant anymore (as glorious as that fact is). When she's born, I'll get to hold her and talk to her and dress her in itty bitty clothes and everything!
Until today, it hadn't really hit me yet. 'Cause you know, I've been pretty busy complaining about being enormous and uncomfortable (both facts, my friends. Apparently I like to gain a pound per week for my ENTIRE pregnancy. It's the new cool thing.) while fixing up the house and managing all of the already born children. But then I got a box in the mail from my bloggy friend Lisa and I was all "HOLY COW! We're actually gonna have a real newborn in the house!"
Because look...just look at what was inside:
Ack! Cuteness overload!
I mean, she is going to wear these clothes. This tiny baby who is kicking around in there, havin' a good ol' time, with eyes and hair whose color I don't know yet, has clothing.
And can we just take a moment to appreciate the tiny mctininess of these pajamas?
I put my watch on there for reference, but since my watch is pretty small, maybe that doesn't help. Okay, from the bottom of the foot to the tippy top of the neck hole is shorter than from my elbow to the tip of my fingers. I'm talking TINY.
Thank you, Lisa!
p.s. It is a gorgeous 50 degrees today with not a cloud in the sky. The girls are cleaning out the playhouse in the front yard, the goats and chickens are poking around in the back, and I took a shower this morning. And...AND!!!!! used the blow dryer on my hair.
Best.
Day.
Ever.

I'm due April 12th with our first baby, a little girl. I spent some time last night hanging up all the little baby girl clothes we've gathered. Its amazing how such an enormous life changer will be able to wear such teeny tiny little outfits.
ReplyDeleteThose outfits are adorable btw, what a nice friend you have!
I want that orange sundress getup for myself.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how long it's been since I've seen baby girl clothes?
DO YOU?!?!
Sixteen years.
Delete;)
DeleteAwwwww... I was just going through some of our old tiny things... time to pass them on :(
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be so awesome for you to have another itty bitty one in the house :)
tiny clothes are the cutest! So glad you are having a good day!
ReplyDeleteBaby clothes AND the blow dryer? So jeal. ous.
ReplyDeletePretty much the best day on earth, I know. My oldest was like "Wow mom, you actually have really nice hair"
DeleteUm...thanks?
That is always so surreal. Folding those tiny cloths, knowing that an actual person will soon be wearing them.
ReplyDeleteThese pics make me miss having a baby girl.
I like all the boy things (And of course I just LOVE the boy!), but I have to admit that I had to avoid the "infant girl" clothing box in the garage because it may have made me cry.
I can't wait to see pics of your little lady in these outfits! Eeek!
AW... Such cute outfits! Can't wait to see little miss wear them! :)
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see her wearing them! Isnt it great to have generous friends... my best friend just sent me all of my godsons clothes from the first 2 years of his life... score!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve awesome days like that. And I LOVE itty bitty baby clothes!! They're so cute when they're washed and hanging all in a row on a drying line.
ReplyDeleteI love baby clothes, and I have to say baby girl clothes are just so stinkin' cute!!! I love getting Elizabeth dressed every morning!
ReplyDeleteYay! I love cute newborn clothes. The weather got nice RIGHT AFTER we left. Our house hunting trip was conducted entirely in the cold and slush and snow, go figure.
ReplyDeleteUgh, the weekend was TERRIBLE! One of the worst of this entire winter, I kid you not. So glad you survived. I wanna hear all about how it went! You can email if you don't feel like sharing all your family details in this combox ;)
DeleteYou're so welcome! I'm just hoping she doesn't end up being your biggest child ever and can only wear a couple of things for like- a week. :)
ReplyDeleteEven if she is, there are SO many pregnant women at our parish right now that they will definitely get put to good use no matter what!
DeleteThat's fantastic!
DeleteI just got rid of all the baby baby stuff. I HAD to keep two newborn white onesies because they made me cry like a baby they were so small.
ReplyDeleteAnd high five for the hair dryer! That's HUGE
I always get to that point too when it hits me that I'm actually having a baby, and I won't just be pregnant forever. Glad I'm not the only one! You have a way of making me feel less crazy :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm just jealous you're having a girl...sigh....
Wow a shower? I hope you're gonna go out later cause you got all fancy. And by out I mean something really worthy like the supermarket.
ReplyDeleteAdorable clothes for your daughter and so nice that Lisa sent them your way. Reading your posts about the generosity of others always uplifts and encourages me to see the goodness in life rather than focusing on the bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat nice friends you have!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Yes, baby clothing always makes me get excited about a pregnancy, especially towards the end. It helps make things more real.
ReplyDeleteAAwww.. that is a really nice friend you have - where's a picture of your hairdryer-blown hair?
ReplyDeleteArghhh!!! I wish I knew what I was having! I would love to fondle little girl clothes :) Instead I will unpack my box of gender neutral newborn stuff from Jack. Baby will be in yellow and green for the beginning at least.
ReplyDeleteBaby clothes are awesome. Baby girls clothes are the BEST. EVER. I am really hoping for a girl in our neck of the woods. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be 20 weeks, Megan? Still praying for you guys!
DeleteThanks - I still need it! :) - I am 12 now...we have not told a SOUL IRL. I am starting to do a thing where I am afraid to tell - like, if I do, that's when something will happen. Pretty sure I am just plain crazy. The doctor is sending us to see a perinatologist, I am sure I spelled that wrong - and that has my hubs all freaked. He thinks that means the doc thinks something is wrong. I told him it just means the doc thinks I am old, and I turned down all testing, so he wants to make sure there is no spina bifida, or anything that would determine where the baby is delivered. Ahhhh - feels good to at least write it down somewhere. We told everyone about the twins early on, not doing that again!
DeleteYour blog is very nice. You have provided interesting information. I will return to your site often to check. Keep up with your good work.
