Top 10 Things that made me Smile

Oh yes.  It's here.  Election day is finally here!  No more robo-calls, no more piles of flyers in the mailbox every day, no more less cray cray in social media land.  It's gonna be great.

I have already rocked the socks off those old ladies at the polling station with my three youngest kids in tow, the oldest of which demanding to know "WHERE ARE ALL THE FIRE TRUCKS IF THIS IS A FIRE STATION? I NEED TO SEE A FIRE TRUCK! OR A FIRE DOG! WHERE IS THE FIRE DOG?" the entire time.

He's five and has recently taken to yelling every. single. thing. he says.  I DON'T KNOW WHERE HE COULD HAVE POSSIBLY LEARNED SUCH BEHAVIOR.

So, in honor of this happy day of happiness (work with me), I present to you:

Top 10 Things that Made me Happy in the Last Week
(in no particular order)

(1)
Hilarity abounds in this fantastical He-Man / 4 Non-Blondes mash up

(Big tip o' the hat to Rhonda)

(2)
I am a nerdtastic dork and old maps and old books and old things fascinate me, so I was super intrigued by this visual comparison of the "old" Manhattan to the new made-bigger-by-landfill Manhattan (you don't even have to read anything.  Just click and look.  Worth it. h/t to Melanie)

(3)
This ridonkulous cow photobomb.  'Nuf said.

(4)
Did I mention I voted with three small children in tow?  There was even a line!  In East North Podunk Rural Michigan!  Cray.  But also awesome.

(5)
Speaking of which, I have had this song stuck in my head since I woke up.  You take it now!

(6)
Ehrmahgherd, you know how I've been going looney-bins for my Kohl's boots and all?  Well, now you can use this promo code to get 10% off your purchase there because they were so grateful for all my free advertising for them: TENBLOG

Pretend that was written eloquently, okay?

(7)
The main photo for this t-shirt on Amazon made me laugh so hard yesterday morning.  (Sorry if you're a fan on fb and are having to see these again, bee tee dub).  "Workin' it in da club in my v-neck cotton tee, baby!"

(8)
If you haven't seen this new bid-niss they're calling Auto-tune the Clergy, you MUST watch.

(9)
Happy smilin' at this from the editors of Verily Magazine...
...which reminded me of this post from Cari

(10)
And finally, this fierce *slash* adorable baby kicking the stuffing (literally) out of an uber evil dragon will MAKE YOUR DAY. WATCHITTHISINSTANT.

  4. Dwija - for some reason I totally relate to the pic of the horse and cow - I think that is me - some days I'm the horse and some days the cow! - cracked me up - also, the Dragonbaby was hilarious - the teetering at the end was the best - as for Paul yelling all his comments, I do the same - of course, it's in my head and I'm usually yelling at people as I pass them in the grocery store or drive by them in the bank drive thru, but I'm with him - I think we would all get along much better if we yelled whenever we felt the yell come on - HAVE A GREAT WEEK - LOVE THE POSTS - NOW I HAVE TO GO STAND IN FRONT OF THE FREEZER AND WAIT FOR SOMETHING TO JUMP OUT AT ME AND TELL ME WHAT TO DO WITH IT - JEN

  6. Here's the funny thing about #1, Dweej - I didn't go looking for that video, *it came to me* (cue mystical music) and of course I thought of you.

It's as though the Hand of Destiny was guiding yet one more He-Man clip into your possession. You were *meant* to have it.

  10. That auto-tune makes me REALLY miss JPII! I remember feeling such a loss when he died, and ever since I strongly feel his presence in my life! I have loved living in Poland these past 2 years and witnessing how his life and message is such a big part of life there! He was truly a great man!
