Boring and Uninspired and Faces {what I wore Sunday}

Do you ever have one of those days where acting natural just doesn't....come naturally?  Yeah, today is definitely one of those.  Oi/Oy (I truly don't know how you're supposed to spell it).  The collection of photos my poor daughter took was nothing short of ridiculous and so I just had to start making faces.  You know, like...

Happy Dweej Party Face!
("you have beer?!?!?")

This Beer is A-okay Face!
(and jalapeno kettle chips?!?!?)

Oh my Holy bad-word, This is Never Going to End Face!
Anyway, we are deep in the heart of winter (Not really.  No.  Winter just started.  Humor me.) yet I am still nursing one fat baby of deliciousness plus helping to wrangle one incorrigible toddler at church, so my wardrobe options are reeeeeeaaaaaaaally limited.  Unless I want to show you wear the same pair of jeans every week and NO I DO NOT THANKYOUVERYMUCH.

But I am wearing the same darn boots again because did you catch the part about how it's winter in Michigan and there is snow on the ground and there are 5 kids and wrangling?  And even though it is so beautiful, the heels, well, the heels would cause me to be very (more) snippy and (more) impatient and sweetbabyjeezus we do NOT need that.  No.  No we do not.

Dress: Banana Republic (this is a fantastic not-nursing-nursing dress.  The fabric is soft and stretchy, the neckline is low and it has a tie around the waist that expands and contracts as needed. This dress is fulfilling it's duties with the third baby and is still a fave.

Grungy non-white cami: Liz Lange Maternity for Target (I am not joking when I tell you that this thing goes down to mid-thigh on me.  Yes, I will finally admit that I need a new white cami.  A new new one that has never been used.  Happy now?)

Super exciting brown tights that you are obviously ogling due to their uniqueness: Old Navy
Ye olde boots from Kohl's (need I link them again?  I think not.)
Rerun peridot necklace and matching earrings thanks to hubby many Christmases ago

Basically I feel lame for this totally uninspired ensemble.   I mean, a matching set of jewelry?  Nothing even from the thrift store?  No argyle or anything?  Blah.  I was going to wear a dress that I got for $2 but then noticed that it had somehow gotten a splash of bleach on it and if it were black I would have just colored it with a sharpie and worn it anyway, but it wasn't and I don't have any teal sharpies, so I had to change at the VERY last minute and hence: Boring Town USA.

So instead of looking at this lame-ness, hop over to Fine Linen & Purple and be impressed by some stylish ladies who know what they're doing!

  1. I love you even more for being a "Imma just Sharpie over this bleach stain" kind of person.

  2. I am realizing that there comes a point where I am doing good if the only embarrassing thing on my clothing is a bleach stain. I do love the necklace though, and the boots. I need boots...

  5. I'm just excited I got new underwear for Christmas. Some of mine has my grams name written in the back in black sharpie. Yeah, I admit it, I'm wearing literal granny panties. Used ( but totally clean and high-end panties) granny panties. *sigh* My gram would howl with laughter is she knew, although, I suspect she's looking down on me in her undies and rolling her eyes. Or..covering her eyes in sheer horror.

  8. Dear Boring-Town, USA - have you heard of Irregular Choice? Their shoes are second to none in the 'Beautiful and Zany' category, and I daresay their NY store delivers across the US...

(Most of their heeled shoes are also very comfy, though I've not tried their flats yet.)

  12. Non-nursing nursing dresses are the best!Of course, the one time I wore one to a wedding, I got mistaken for one of the wait staff. . .

  13. There is a reason that dress has hung around. a) great color, print and clearly super comfy and b)the first three mean PRACTICAL...I have several of these so please don't call them boring...then you're calling me boring and really....I'm mostly not. mostly.

  15. I love the outfit. Have you ever heard of Undercover Mamas? They're these great little tanks that attach to your nursing bra and make any shirt a nursing shirt. They are AWESOME! I even where them when I'm not nursing! Highly recommend. I've got to get some new ones before my 5th arrives in March. www.undercovermama.com
