What I Wore Sunday, vol. 7

The other day, I had a startling realization.  I, mother of 5, homeschooler, chicken wrangler, did not own a single ankle-length denim skirt.  Impostor!

So I got one.

Rocked it out Advent Style this morning.  Why yes, the priest and I did match perfectly.  Thanks for asking.

Homeschooling mom uniform style lengthy-rific denim skirt- Gap via Goodwill
Purple-tastic halter-ish top- that fake Forever 21 store where I got the grey peep-toes
Mustard cardi- Mossimo via Goodwill
The Boots (my precious, precious friends)-Croft and Barrow via Kohl's
Signature chandelier earrings- old school.  (My Bollywood obsession has been in effect since before the word Bollywood existed)
Random shot of shirt color to make three pics for collage
Oh no you DI'INT!
Oh yes I DID.
Supah-star!

  1. Love the bling earrings, and the purple & gold together! Way to dress liturgically. :)

  4. The last shot looks like one of the stand-in refs when the strike was on... or cheerleading for an as-yet not well-funded football team :-)

  5. A front slit long denim skirt ~ score!
    Great outfit, as usual!

  6. Denim skirts for the win! I, homeschooling mother of 4 (with 1 on the way, so 5 really), also don't own such a skirt. Mostly because I'm still in my black yoga pants phase. For shame. Will have to rectify the situation!

  9. I was skeptical when you said you were rocking a denim skirt. But ah, you were. I like.

  10. Can I just say that I love you? not in any sort of wierd uncomfortable way, but in the you-always-manage-to-make-me-laugh-and-drool-over-your-outift-at-the-same-time sort of way. Seriously.....mustard, purple, jeans, pre-bollywood bollywood earrings and boots. love. it. all.

  15. I just love everything about the outfit--and your poses! Everyone who owns chickens and home schools HAS to have a skirt like this, I agree.
Great outfit and post--very liturgically correct :)

  16. Purple and gold...didn't think it was Mardi Gras quite yet. Oh right, mustard! Not gold. My bad. Very nice! Glad you're embracing you true denim ankle-skirted self.

  17. Sorry, but I still gotta call ya out as an impostor. The slit is far too high and should be in the back. You'd only pass for a rebellious homeschool teen daughter.

Conclusion: you're cute, but still such a failure as a denim skirt wearer.;)

    1. I was going to say you can't get your Catholic homeschooling card unless it's an ankle length denim JUMPER. But, you know, I'd be happy to be mistaken for a rebellious homeschool teen daughter so just go with that Dweej.

  18. I always buy skirts like that at thrift stores and I always hate how they fit. Cute on you, though.

  25. My hubby was in the Prince of Peace household at Steubenville - and their colors were purple and gold - so whenever I see this combo, my head screams out "Go P.O.P.!!"

You look super cute as usual, and I finally got some boots!!

  28. Ok, every time I swear off more "What I Wore" posts, I read one of yours and I think, "Damn! This really IS a fun meme! Imma do it again!"

  29. If you really want to do it right you need one of those old school tiered, faded, ankle length, denim skirts with the elastic waist. Don't ask me how I know that. ;)

  30. I have been homeschooling, and therefore wearing the required ankle length denim for many years, and I gotta tell ya, Dweej, you do NOT look the least bit "homeschool"!
Now, add a pair of fuzzy pink crocks, knee highs and a sloppy sweatshirt to that skirt, and you will have the homeschool look DOWN!
