5 + 2 = 7 {7 qt}

(1)
It's 20 minutes 'til 11 and I am so exhausted from staying up too late doing nothing important the last few nights that I MUST be finished by then. 7 Takes! 20 minutes! Luckily, Jessie tagged me in that 5 Things Thing (new official name) so Imma just roll 'em out right here:

(2)
Because God knows the limits of what this world can handle, I am the only child of my two crazy eclectic parents, yet I still managed to end up with 5 younger siblings.  Sometimes life is just cray cray like that, you know?

(3)
Freakish Body Tricks de Dweej:
  • removing shoulder from socket
  • using toes of one foot to crack the toes of the other foot
  • single eyebrow raise

(4)
I used to ride horses when I was a wee lil' thang and then ended up using all that ostensibly useless knowledge to land me a job at a snazzy tack store for years and years.  High-five expensive, time-consuming hobbies!  And you know that thing in movies where they have to put a gun together while wearing a blindfold?  Yeah, I can totally do that with bridles.

I say that like you'll know what the heck I'm talking about.

Trust me.  IT'S REALLY AWESOME.

No.  It's not.  I'm a dork.

(5)
One of the only ongoing arguments my husband and I have is the following: which is the superior cinematic achievement: Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison?

Duh.

(6)
Is there really anything else you don't already know?

I HATE having any light in my room when I'm trying to sleep.  And ticking or scratching noises.  Or the sound of styrofoam rubbing together...AND I ONLY HAVE 1 MINUTE LEFT MUST STOP TALKING

(7)
p.s. One more day to enter the Shaklee giveaway.  Do it.

  1. Ha! These made me laugh, every last one. I want to hear more about #2 though.

  2. Re #3: I can do the latter 2 (and do, daily) but I'm pretty sure if I ever pulled my arm from its socket I would freak out so hard I would die.

  3. #6 is the worst. If my phone is charging I have to cover it with something because the little LED on the charger is too bright.

Ever heard of "Click Beetles?" We had one in our room one night. All night long. Snap. Snap. SNAP. Couldn't find the dang thing. Shudder.

And the sound of styrofoam rubbing together is evil. Nighttime or not. That's my "nails on a chalkboard." And balloon squeaking. Blech!

#3 After our Rome semester I came home and told my brother about your rubber arms trick. He said, "you mean like this?" Yup. He can do the same thing. And I never knew it. He can also lick his own elbow which is supposed to be impossible. Bet you can too.

#5 Are you too good for your HOME?! Best.

  6. Dweej, seriously, you are SUCH a riot. And where on earth do you find all these linky things? I love link-ups, even though I've only done a few.

  7. I'm so with you on hating any light in the room while I sleep. I throw blankets over the closed laptop and the cell phone charger because those tiny little lights bother me. I have black-out shades on the window...because otherwise the streetlights shine in. My husband doesn't get it..he could sleep with the bright overhead light on..that drives me craaaazy!

  8. #6- you are my husband! Whenever he needed to sleep in the living room, he would take the clock off the wall and take the batteries out. He's pretty happy that the movers broke it a few months back (it hasn't been replaced). He sleeps with earplugs in most of the time now. I want to get him a sleep mask, too, but I don't think he'll go for it.

  9. #5 Happy Gilmore, NO QUESTION!!! The grandmother cracks me up! I love, love, love horses too. My mom had a couple horses and rode until she was 7 months pregnant with me, I think it is in my blood! Boo, hoo...though, I have only ridden 3 or 4 times in the last few years. My dream is to own a horse someday, I think little kids riding horses are so cute. Elizabeth would look awesome with one of those hats on! :) A girl can dream, right??? P.S. My husband and FIL call them "hay-burners"....ugh!

  10. I can raise one eyebrow too!!! My kids think I am freaky weird like that. But can you do that on both sides or just one? I can do both but I have never met anyone else who can. I will provide pictures if necessary.

  11. K, not to brag or anything, but my 2 month old raised one eyebrow at me the other day. It was comically awesome. (And probably accidental. Unless she thought I'd gone a little too far dressing her in a *blue* hand-me-down sleeper from her brother.)

  12. Oh my mom hates the sounds of styrofoam squeaking!

And the toe cracking? We are one in that.

  13. #5- You're wrong
    #6- You're right
    # tag someone- Do I need to do it again? These rules confuse me. Also, I have alcohol poisoning from aforementioned game

  14. I know what a bridle is, and I am impressed by your abilities. I also envy your tack store job-- we used to get tack catalogs and I would plan for my future horse ownership, but then I gave up riding to pursue an expensive hobby that gave me no job and no self-esteem, i.e., ballet.

  15. Happy Gilmore for shooore. Also if you haven't seen it, Adam Sandler directed or produced (I can't remember which) Hotel Transylvania, a quirky animated movie that came out here recently. My hubs and I enjoyed it- kiddish escapism! :)

  16. Gaah! Leave your shoulder in the socket! The socket is its natural environment! The socket is its home! Let your shoulder stay in its home! I can hear your labrum tearing and the cartilage getting worn down and I can the arthritis forming. I've seen people get their shoulder so loose that they can't take off a jacket without the shoulder falling out of the socket. NOT. GOOD.

  17. "Go to sleep or I will put you to sleep!" Greatest. Movie. Ever. You and Cari should totally do a Twitter thang!

  18. I can't do lights in the room either! Right now there are ugly blankets over our windows because the Christmas lights from the neighbors and the one street light were keeping me awake. I think it might be a female youngish adult thing and something to do with moon cycles and other hippiesque things. Gittin' my act together finally! Thanks for the tag :)

  19. Oh, Happy Gilmore wins, though Billy Maddison is close. The "you're gonna die, clown!" scene takes the cake!
