Five Favorites (vol. 1)

The lovely Hallie Lord at Moxie Wife recently started publishing short lists of her 5 favorite....whatevers.  Foods, videos, words, pictures, lotions- well, you can see where this is going.  Then she made it a link up!

Honey, you KNOW I've never met a link-up I didn't like. I am totes jumping on that bandwagon.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Conditioning Cream

Y'all remember how my hair used to be straight and then I cut it and I looked like Luanne and it turns out that it's because it had turned curly without notifying me, right?  Curly Hair Management Sans Flat Iron (ain't nobody got time fo' dat) 101  has been a tricky course, lemme tell ya.  But this Garnier cream is awesome.
Seriously, I have some snazzy overpriced salon stuff that I bought when I got my last haircut (way too long ago) and I trial ran it after using the Garnier for a few weeks.  No contest, y'all.  The Garnier won, hands frizz down.

This paragraph from The Privilege of Being Catholic
Jesus chose to be born into a family which possessed neither power, nor wealth, nor fame, as if to show that human existence needs none of these things to have value.  He spent his first thirty years performing everyday tasks and living an ordinary family life, as if to indicate that these things are so good that God could find nothing more important to do.

Beaded Bib Necklaces

Shalom Necklace, Yellow

This one is from Noonday Collection. Totally amazeballs.  So now I'm obsessed with learning how to make one.  I'm sure it'll turn out nice and ghetto like everything else I do.

Aquinas Angels

Aquinas and More might not have to close after all!  They've created a GoFundMe site detailing an all-or-nothing campaign to save their store and the response so far has been incredible.  Check it out.

CARLTON!

  2. I love that Garnier Fructis cream too!!! It works wonders on my super annoying, sometimes wavy, sometimes curly, always frizzy hair in the suffering Florida humidity. Seriously, I love it..it really helps keep my hair frizz-free in Florida.

  8. I find item no. 5 to be in extremely bad taste. There is never anything funny about dancing. Or loud sweaters. Both are tools of the devil.

  11. Oh, wow. That paragraph totally just made me cry! And I'm absolutely certain my tears had nothing to do with my extremely pregnant state. ;)

    Thanks for joining in, cutie!

  12. Garnier is the bomb - I had to include them in my lost too :)

That necklace would look so good on your neck (yes, I am trying to creep you out now!)

  13. Love Garnier! Most days I try to bring out the curl, and their curl gel is hands down the best I've tried! I might have to try your stuff for when I want to tame the wave...

  14. My husband actually uses that exact cream...he has super curly hair even though it is short and it makes it look more "styled" (for lack of a better term for manly hair). I use it on our curly haired daughter too sometimes.
Oooh I love the bib necklace!

  15. Bless you for the Carlton gif!

    "It's not unusual...."

  16. That's a fantastic paragraph. Even makes me keen to read the rest of the book, perhaps.

  18. You and Bonnie are tied for best quotes of the day. And, I don't see anything weird about Carlton. Doesn't everyone dance like that? No? Just me?

  19. You had me in tears with the quote, then you had me in tears of laughter with Carlton. Classic! And look... as I am typing here an email popped up that you just commented on my post while I am commenting on yours. Great minds think alike! ;-)

  21. At first take, I was shocked to know where you found a video of my husband dancing. Then, second take, and all was good. The quote gave me a little eye-shine. Loved it!

  22. Fantastic quote! I do so love Fr. Lukefahr. One of his books was required reading in my RCIA class, so he's always got a special spot on my book shelf!

  25. I'm starting to think that every day needs a little bit of Carlton in it.

  26. I am 100% with you on the Garnier! I am a natural redhead who would look like Napoleon Dynamite in drag (but much cuter lol) if I didn't use anti frizz products. Your Ain't nobody got time fo' dat comment made me spit out my coffee! The local radio station we listen to in the mornings was talking about that video and were having people call in with things that nobody just has no time fo'. lol

PS....such a cute idea, mind if I do it too? I don't know how to make a linkup thingy though.

In my defense, the show ended when I was 9...

  29. Girl, Oh. My. God! I was, literally screaming with laughter, and it's 3:21 a.m., so you know that's not going over well here!

And I think that book you quoted from is a new must read! Very nice... lovely even...

  30. Oh Carlton. You can't not love that.
I'm gonna check out number 1. Because I have some disobedient hair, and it NEEDS to obey.
Love that paragraph about Jesus. It's so amazing when you think that most of His life was so simple and perhaps unspectacular. Note to self: Think about that next time you change a crap diaper.
That necklace.Love it. and "it'll turn out nice and ghetto like everything else I do"??? girl you make me laugh!!!! LOL:)
