Labor Day Bathroom Reno - SHAZAM!

Remember on Friday when I said we were thinking about selling The House Unseen?

Well.  Deep breath.  Here's what happened since then.

-Our offer on a place two miles away got accepted (as I said to my friend Amanda "I don't want a new life, I just want a new house!)

-We realized we have to get this place, our current house, appraised.

-A list one point seven miles long enumerating the many, many things that need attention was created.

-We made fourteen trips to the hardware store.

-I cried after I hung up with the window repair people because I'm an emotional basket case who needs a six day power nap

-AND...and....and we completely redid the bathroom.

Oh my aching everything.

WANNA SEE PICS OHMYGOSHOFCOURSEYOUDO!

As bad as the entire bathroom was, the tub and shower were the most worstestest.

I mean, scary, right?

And some in process shots:

This is the photo that scared the bejeezus off of everyone on the fb page.  Because yeah, scary.

Okay, now wait for it.....wait...for...iiiiiiiit.....

This is the money, y'all.  Mon. EEEEEEE.
I mean, you're not even afraid to take a shower here anymore!

And let's do that before and after one more time for proper reno posting:

Okay, Tommy needs to turn off the electricity for some kind of dangerous basement project he's got goin' on, so I have to cut this short.  BUT, cute curtains for a pop of color coming up soon and if you're actually interested in paint colors or product names or how-tos, toss your questions in the combox and I'll come back and answer later.

Vamos a renovaciones! Or however you say it!

  3. I repeat my earlier demand from the book of faces...SHARE YOUR MAGIC. What did you do to that bathtub?!? Did it involve the bartering of first-born children? That's just amazing, and I want to doooooo it too.

  8. Isn't the worst part that you didn't do it sooner so you could live in it like this?? We're also moving a couple miles down the road and I wish we'd gotten to enjoy the spruced up house. Of course, we would have ruined it, but still.

  9. Glad we weren't the only ones to tackle a project this weekend. Except we just painted lol you guys did a whole lot of beautiful magic in there :-)

  11. My bathtub looks a lot like your "before." The shower curtain is always, always, always closed for that reason. The people who lived here before us painted it over before we moved in, and we were deluded into thinking it was normal, but then the paint all started peeling and now it is so creepy! I second slightlyscatteredsupermom - share the magic! If I could bust that out in a weekend I'd do it!

  12. It looks fantastic! Did you just paint over the tiles or did you remove them and then patch and paint? And is the bathroom surround really as easy as it looks to replace? Because you had such a quick turnaround and it seriously looks amazing! We've been looking at fixer-uppers lately and a lot of them have scary bathtubs so I'm curious whether it's maybe not as big of a job as it seems? Or maybe it is and I'm just crazy for even considering it ;)

  17. Wait just a second. Aren't you my sister in solidarity on the "why on earth do people go camping?" thing? But... but... your old bathroom was like camping. Love your new improved bath, hope your house sells so you can rock on with your bad self in a house with 2 bathrooms!
