See Me Homeschool

I've never homeschooled anywhere but Michigan so I don't know if this is true, but I always imagine if we lived somewhere more hospitable to human life (kidding.  sort of.) my homeschool days would look roughly the same throughout the school year.  But we don't which means that schooling in October looks very different from schooling in February which looks very different from schooling in May.

Oh February.  It is the hardest and the worst.  Our daily screen time per capita has reached its absolute pinnacle for the year.  And as much as the perfectionist in me wants to hide that fact from all of you (whilst editing out all the out of place toys and crumpled up pieces of paper), I won't.  Resist the temptation, dweej!  I did take these photos over the span of a few days, however because a) it gets on everyone's nerves for me to be shooting every little thing all day for the entire day and b) I can't manage to do everything I need to do and photograph it at the same time.  Thank you to Micaela and Theresa for prompting this series inspired by last year's How I Homeschool fun.

You can thank Michaela and Theresa for coming up with this totally fun idea.  Please check out all the other hop participants and link up your own post.  But be warned: sharing photos with no captions is REALLY HARD.  Super duper really hard.

  1. February is one seriously bummer of a month. Woke up to it being -12 again this morning and it's still dark for half the day. Spring can't come soon enough!

  2. Dang right it's hard! I'm very happy you clarified the time period because you got so much accomplished! And I love all the sunshine in your new crib.

  3. Yes! SO hard. I'm up tomorrow and I might die of not captioning the photos.

I love the light in the handwriting shot.

  4. out of all the pictures I'm the most impress that your big girl can read in front of Sponge Bob and not run out of the room screaming "my ears are bleeding!!"

  6. Oh to be a fly on the wall!! It looks like you have so much fun - I’m impressed :) We don’t homeschool right now, but it’s always in the back of mind...and my prayers.

    Such a sweet family, Dwij!

  8. Dwija! I loved every part of it!! The practical math applications! The hopscotch! The screen time (definitely at fever pitch over here, too!) Your daughter's artwork! The tin whistle! The swimsuit-clad toddler!! Love it all!
February homeschooling is SO hard. And it was so hard not to caption all my pictures. I felt like I had to reassure everyone that I really DO let my kids go out for fresh air and exercise - but this post wasn't written during the ten days out the year when it's warm enough. This blog hop in Feb. is fun because it's been a great diversion from the winter blahs, but it's been hard to see the posts where homeschooling is still happening outside in the grass and sun and blue skies...
Thanks so much for joining the blog hop! I'm glad you did :)

  9. The screen time here has reached unimaginable proportions also. And it's not even as cold as it is there. LOVE the hopscotch taped to the kitchen floor!

  10. Oooh, I've been wanting to do a "see me homeschool" post for a very long time. Perhaps this is just the kick in the pants I need. Thank you for letting us peek into your homeschooling!

  13. Lots of screentime over here, too. A little jealous of those who live where they can be outside right now! All great pics, thanks for sharing!
