Easy Slow Cooker and One Pot Meals Link-Up

Hey hey hey! I'm doing it! As promised, here my easy peasiest crowd pleasingest slow-cooker recipe and at the bottom you'll find a link up for everyone else to add theirs.  Now we can all stop using our stoves forever.  Or at least until we have no children under the age of three in our homes.  I know, right?

Simple Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork

Can be eaten in a pile with nothing else if you have, for example, just given birth to a baby and are on a strict all protein, no cooking or food prep diet, or it can be slapped on a bun (with or without sandwich fixins) if you're feeling especially culinarily adventurous.

Ingredients:

Pork (however many pounds you want)
Small bottle of bbq sauce (any)
1 onion (optional)

This is not a joke, guys.  It's so easy you're gonna think it is. Chop your optional onion and optionally drop it in the bottom of your crock pot.  Now dump your pork on top (one of those big shoulders?  Ribs?  Loin?  It truly doesn't matter) even if it's still frozen.  WE DO NOT HAVE TIME TO BE DEFROSTING STUFF HERE PEOPLE.  Squeeze the entire contents of bbq sauce bottle onto the meat.

Put the lid on.

Turn your slow cooker on for 6 hours on high.

That's it.  Eat yo' meat.

Got some hamburger buns?  That's awesome.  No?  Also fine.  Use it on sandwiches, in tortillas, on a bed of potato chips, as a meat salad.  Whatever you want.  Err'body's gonna love it.

Now it's your turn.  I can't wait!

  1. Hi I don't have a blog so I'll give this comment box a go. Easy crock pot recipe I have been loving lately (from America's Test Kitchen cookbook Slow Cooker Revolution 2): Mix one pound ground beef with 1 egg yolk, 2/3 cup plain bread crumbs or panko, 2/3 cup basil pesto, 1/4 cup grated parmesan. Form into 12 meatballs. Microwave 5-7 minutes on a large plate until fat renders and meatballs are firm. Nestle in marinara sauce of your choice in slow cooker (need ~2 24 oz jars or one 40 oz jar to cover meatballs). Cook 4 to 6 hours on low and serve with pasta of your choice. Kids love it + Husband loves it + Easy + fairly healthy = mom loves it.

  3. Dweej. I cry. This is exactly what my emotional health needs - a recipe that is as easy as calling Domino's, but is actually full of home-cooked meat, so's we'll be properly fed with much-needed protein and I will look like a genius.

  4. Thank you, Dweej. Link #6 (3 crock pot meals) doesn't work. Any chance you can fix it? It just keeps bringing me back to your blog.

  6. Thank you, m'am! I am always looking for tried and tested recipes, especially those crock pot recipes. Was just trying to come up with a menu for next week when I remembered this post. I hope you don't mind, I added a few of our faves. They only go up on my blog if they are "blogworthy". Ha ha.
