Tiny main bathroom redo- before pics

At the beginning of the year, I decided agreed to publish something, just one single little measly thing, on this blog just one single little measly time per month. Welp, not sure if you've seen a calendar lately but it turns out that January ends this week. This week. THIS week. WUT.

So I'm going to post some before pics of the smallest/main bathroom in our house because when you live in an 1870s-ish farmhouse, sometimes the bathroom on the main level is built under the staircase and the door to get into said bathroom looks like a pantry door in the kitchen.  Woe to the guest who opens that door without knocking expecting to find garam masala and instead finds a, well, you can imagine the rest of this vvvvv softball joke.

First, the wide angle lens photo from the real estate listing.

I'd like to direct your attention, dear reader, to the following details: The floor tiles are grey (cool) yet the walls are yellow (warm).  The pedestal sink provides no storage space, thus requiring we set our blow dryer on the step stool on the floor so that if a child needs to use the step stool, he need only gently set the item on the floor, being careful to avoid any and all water.  No worries.  Also: canister of cleaning wipes.  Also, towel ring hung beneath light switch.  So that you might reach it whilst sitting on the toilet perhaps?  One will never know.

Also, and this is most important, why is the mirror not centered over the sink? Why is the sink not centered underneath the mirror?  Inquiring minds like mine ask these, and many many more, questions.

But despite all its interesting qualities, this bathroom was still one of the mostest bestest rooms in the house when we moved in so it has taken almost 4 years for it to move to the top of The List.

Now for my additional before photos, taken with my phone because I didn't actually think I would ever be blogging this despite my resolution agreed upon task.

A photo I took whilst standing inside the shower stall. Yes, it is that small in there.
The walls look less yellow in this photo, but trust me, they still were.  Can we just meditate on those corner shelves for a second?  Yes, I agree.  Another element of this fine alcove that I'd like to focus on is the height, width, and color of that storage cabinet, particularly in relation to the amount of other usable storage space in this bathroom (read: none). It's a mystery, my friends.  A mystery.

A photo I took whilst standing on the toilet.  Did I mention that this is not a large bathroom?
Here you can see our super fancy blow-dryer storage solution. Many chic.  Plz Pin.  I had already started emptying out that brown cabinet before I had the wherewithal to take these photos, which is why there is a box of toiletries on the floor.  Don't worry, it wasn't (always) that bad in there.  Please to note the extreme height of the robe hook to the left of the shower, btw.  Step ladder, anyone?

A true, non-wide angle view of the bathroom size while standing in the kitchen looking into the door.
I'm not kidding about this bathroom being literally right in the kitchen.  Hello wine bottles and knife block!  So nice to see you in my bathroom mirror.  Nice dish towel on the towel ring ya got there, dweej.  I mean, when a space has been so annoying for so long, sometimes you just stop caring, amiright?

We are so close to being finished with our redo right now!  February will definitely contain a reveal (because it's already been three weeks and we didn't even tear down any walls- you can hashtag that diywith7kidswhilehomeschooling or something catchy like that) so say a prayer for us.

  16. I just want to thank you Mr. Jerry for all you do, very amazing. I was very skeptical at first, never heard of someone fixing low credit score on excellent reports. After being turned down for a home loan, I filed for my credit report to see what was on it. To my dismay there were duplications, misinformation as well as things that weren't even mine. No wonder I couldn't get the loan. A friend from work said to me that good day, my friend look out for JerryLink Credit Group on the Internet and so I did. After going through and I saw some positive reviews, I decided to contact them. I’m glad I did. It took only 15days to erase negative information, and push my score to 790s from the initial 550s across all three bureaus. You too can testify like me by reaching out to them today via: JERRYLINKGROUP@GMAIL.COM or text (626) 514 0620.
