New Before and After Pics and a WINNER!

Oh, you would think it would be done.  You would think we'd be having our first dinner party in there by now.  But no.  No.  It's just....not done.  BUT, a good portion is and I think it's high-time for a little before and after action!  Presenting the south side of our den/playroom, a progression from day 1 to today....

I know!  So exciting.  Wait 'til you see the other side.  It's unreal.

Speaking of exciting: the winner of that special jar of black raspberry jam has been chosen!

A big congratulations to Steph from Baca Ohana.  You guys, her chubby baby is so stinkin' precious you will melt inside when you see pictures of her.  And Steph is hilarious.  All good things.  So yippppeeeee!

Yay for happy Mondays!

  5. So much better!!! You might've talked about this and I missed it, but did you fill in the paneling grooves or anything?

  7. @Alison: Thank you, sweetie! I swear I'll stop talking about this eventually ;)

    @Allison: Pffffffffffft! That is my husband, but he is NOT exhausted. He has not even touched a brush or roller this whole project. I told him he needed to work, and he was happy to comply ;)

    @MK: I am lovin' it too!

    @Brendy: Thanks!

    @Amber: That red carpet...oh my. That was the WORST. We changed that the first week here. The stench was just too much to bare!

    @Kassi: We had to paint the grooves first individually, then go back over and roll the flat surfaces :)

    @Stasha: She is such a funny little pup. Love her!

  16. Looks great! Why did anyone ever think dark paneling was a good idea? I would also make fun of the red carpet, but I had wall to wall red carpeting in my dorm room my freshman year....my roommates dad was a contractor and had scrap carpeting lying around....it was the COOLEST carpet. But, a dorm room and a livingroom/den in a home is another:) BTW-I have the same vaccuum!

  27. What a little paint and a lot of work won't do. Looks fab. Your before photos reminded me of our house, when we moved here in 1984. Nearly every room sported dark, paneling. We replaced all of it with sheetrock, ripped out carpet, etc., and now we're to the point where we're starting all over. See what you have to look forward to.

  28. Amazing, Dweej! I mean, seriously, it looks AWESOME. My parent's house has dark paneling, and they painted it as well, and it really does make an incredible difference. Good for y'all!
