FRIDAY!!!! Oh yes it's *Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiday*. FFF-RRR-III-DDD-AAA-YYY!See, yesterday I was a total wreck of a wreck. If you subject yourself to my whining over on the twitter, you would have eagerly stabbed yourself in the eyes with hot pokers so you wouldn't have to watch my blubbering any longer:

But then today my midwife came and she listened to my symptoms and she checked on the baby and then she asked me if I'd like her to check me and I was all "Oh you better, because I need to know that there's been some progress. And if there HASN'T been progress, I'm going to need a triple-decker ice cream cone and a child-free Labyrinth marathon".
(4)
And so she did and I am FOUR CENTIMETERS dilated and baby is in the world's most perfect position with head engaged. Then as she left she said "I hope to hear from you tonight!"
(5)
And do you remember what I said about Friday back on Tuesday? And then what I said again on Wednesday? And holy mackerel, Andy, just look at this authentic tweet I sent way back on the 3rd:

Ohsweetbabyjeezus, please let me be psychic! It would be my most favorite day that was ever a day in the history of days!
(7)
And in conclusion, my children make me laugh:
Work it, girl!
Holy crap, are you serious?!!!!!! Hang in there lady!! You can do it :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think you are a psychic!
Panties outside of shorts and a backwards babushka! What panache!
ReplyDeleteHappy baby birthing :)
Ummm, once I hit 4 cm, the baby showed up within the hour.....I hope you are already holding her in your arms!!
ReplyDeleteNot even in labor yet, Colleen! Technically this could still go on for a loooooong time....just hoping that it doesn't :)
DeleteThis sounds a teeny-tiny bit like trying to outfox God, but I DO hope this baby has a June 15 or 16 birthday! Love you!
ReplyDeleteIt totally is...but I figure since I'm doing it with a joyful spirit, it's not as bad as the other way :)
DeleteHaha, it totally does...OR it's the whole ask (beg, plead, whine, tweet) and you shall receive thing, right??
DeleteYes! Yesterday's tears were my prayer...
DeleteCheering you on. I will keep my 5 weeks of prodromal labor and several week's @4cm (goijg / almost -42 weeis) story to myself. :) i will say that labor (when it finally happened) went so fast and was only painful for half a second. It was freaking worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteno, you really do sound close!!!! Come on baby unseen!!!
4cm?! Wow!! Here's hoping today/tomorrow is THE day!
ReplyDeleteYaY!!!!! Baby's a-comin' :)
ReplyDeleteLove the undies on the outside look ;-) May your labor be awesome :)
Hope that sweet baby makes an arrival soon!
ReplyDeleteGo baby go!
ReplyDeleteWait... Are you talking about the movie the Labyrinth, because I spent the better part of my movie viewing in adolescence watching that movie. In other news, come on baby!
ReplyDeleteHope baby comes tonight! Your daughter is so cute!!! Just followed you on Twitter. Love your posts. :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited to the Twittersphere blow up with #babyunseen!
ReplyDelete4 cm is when I generally start shrieking for my epidural. You are one badazz motha...
ReplyDeletePS: your children make ME laugh, too!
ReplyDeleteYIPPEEEE! I would (worry) myself that after four kids the baby would fall out. I was 2 cm dilated with my second and had him a mere few hours later so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's where you're at right now!!!!
ReplyDeleteDo it, girl! You birth that baby!
ReplyDeletePraying for you and hoping tonight the night you meet your new little one!
ReplyDeleteDo it. But wait until I'm back from the Cub Scout crossover ceremony, ok?
ReplyDelete9 p.m.
DeleteGot you penciled in.
Whoot!!! Here's to getting started tonight!!! Best wishes girl!
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope you are psychic!
ReplyDeleteI broke my Friday internet fast for YOU, babyunseen! Just saying, I expect some awesomeness in exchange for my totally lack of sanctity.
ReplyDeleteEvery day before I see your post, I think "SHE'S HAD THE BABY," but then no. I wish you the most easy labor of all easy labors and that your new little peanut will be here by morning. God bless you and your baby and the rest of your family, too. Can't wait to see a picture!
ReplyDeleteJune 16. I like to be right.
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK my friend!
Hoping that your silence from the latest comments means you are busy with the business of birthing! I will check #babyunseen on Twitter :D Hope your home birth is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWash the floor on your hands and knees....I've heard that this is a surefire way to start labor. It swings the baby's back to your front.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the good news. Remember, contractions aren't painful, they are just "interesting feelings that require all of my concentration." (Ina May) I literally meditated on this during my homebirth and it helped me relax and deliver. Good luck!
