So even though it's approximately seven moments before tomorrow and late and dark and nighttime and all that, imma tell you a little bit about our exhaustingly awesome weekend anyway. 'Cause this is my blog and I do what I want.
Okay, wait. Can I just dump a bunch of photos on you instead? Yes? Sweet.
Friday was the boy's birthday. I totally rocked out his cake super awesome mama style, what with my genius creativity and willingness to think outside the box.
Not really.
The whole idea was Tommy's.
I'm lame and boring.
But I did execute it! Yes! I did!
Not really.
My big girls baked it and then one made the frosting.
BUT I TOTALLY PUT THE ROAD AND CANDLES ON SO I GET 30 MOM POINTS ANYWAY.
what is up with my hand? Is it made out of wax? cocoa powder, btw |
mini m&ms from the "you made a pee pee!" stash |
"new" vehicles out of the box-o-vehicles we bought from Goodwill that we keep stashed in the basement |

Gimme my MOTY award already, sheesh!
That's long enough to be called a blog post, right? Super. More on the baptism and subsequent party (and this weird crick in my neck and my hair and all that other stuff you're dying to know) soonish, I swear.
Also, don't miss this month's edition of Snapshots from a Sunday over at Clan Donaldson, where not one, not two, but THREE of the shots were taken in my very own house. Hollah!
Oh, and I've gots me one of them giveaways ending tonight, too. Have you entered yet? Hop tiggity to it.
Cute. I probably would've used brown sugar or brownie mix, though. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, brown sugar would be yummy! I'm so mean though...kinda tried to make it not so sweet on purpose so that small people wouldn't be demanding extra pieces. I should be ashamed of myself!
DeleteLOL!! That's awesome. And yeah, I could eat brown sugar by the spoonful. Delicious.
DeleteLove it! So, so cute! I'm pinning this!
ReplyDeleteCute! I actually am dying to know about the hair :) Well not dying, just in severe need of a haircut. Once I see your genius I'll debate whether I can con my sister into cutting mine.
ReplyDeleteWell, that is kinda superawesome - that you have CHILDREN WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH TO BAKE AND FEED THEMSELVES AND GO TO THE BATHROOM.
ReplyDelete(can you tell I'm stressed?)
Also, happy (late) birthday Paul!!
Well thank God you blogged, woman. My blog traffic suffers mightily when you're away and not directing people to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm stealing your cake idea for The Jude's birthday.
AAaaaand I'm still emotionally bruised from seeing so many bloggers at your house on Sunday. It was like a little mini-Catholic BlogHer convention, AND I MISSED IT!
Let me check....
Delete....did I just make that whole comment about ME?
checking. checking. checking.
Why yes I did!
Cake for the win!
ReplyDeleteEpic Coors Light tee. Also, you bleached those cars, right?
ReplyDeleteCute! I've been thinking about a truck theme for next year's combined 2 and 4 year old boys' birthdays.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to say I think I just became your site's 500th member! It said 499 before I clicked, anyway. Congrats!
Is there anything better than sportin' a chocolate goatee of little boy happiness? Maybe making a chocolate goatee of little boy happiness!
ReplyDeleteSweet idea for a cake. That's the kind of cake decorating I can handle. Happy birthday to Paul!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little man cake!
ReplyDeleteLove the cake. Always fun when your sugar is topped with cool presents!
