But let's back it up, shall we?
(I was just so impressed with my own skillz at using Microsoft Paint that I couldn't help but jump straight to my totally legit graphic. Each of those "gallons" clearly represents TWO gallons, because, well, 48 little containers was more than my pasting finger could handle. Yes, I can tell by your half-closed eyes and the way you're resting your chin on your hand like that that you are astounded and amazed as well.)
I love saving money. I also love not spraying bleach on my kids. You know, you're trying to clean and someone suddenly appears under you and demands to help and before you know it that all purpose Clorox cleaner is where it's not supposed to be and then you're calling poison control (again) and they threaten to take away your mom card and you're like "I'm never cleaning again!"? Yeah, me neither.
Needless to say, I do a LOT of cleaning with vinegar. Which is why Lisa knew I would jump at the chance to try out the Shaklee Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate (click that link to read about all its natural awesomeness plus fabulous award-winningness, especially if you or anyone else in your house is not really a fan of the vinegar smell).
She was extra clever and also had them send me these 3 snazzy spray bottles so I could do my mixin' post haste. But you don't NEED special spray bottles, ya know? Or really any spray bottles at all come to think of it. I mean, how did people clean their houses before spray bottles were invented? Thank you.
So I tried the stuff.
you seriously want the name of my hair girl, don't you? |
also, you can tell this is a real housework scenario due to presence of 'the sweater' |
I'll wait for you to regain your composure.
All better? Good. Now where was I? Oh yes. So you can either spend $960.00 on Windex, which your children should never touch OOOOOOOR you can spend $12.15 on Shaklee Organic cleaner, which your children are free to touch. Now I'm no math whiz but it seems to me that $12.15 is a whole lot less than $960. Amiright? You know I am.
You guys, do I really need to say anything else? I mean, did you hear the part about saving over NINE HUNDRED AMERICAN DOLLARS???
I am seriously, seriously sold. I mean, Lisa did give me the stuff for free to try but no one is paying me cash dollars to say these things, cross my heart. It is just an amazing value. Uh-May-Zing.
So click here to take a gander at the Shaklee Get Clean Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate (say that three times fast). Then poke around the site. Snag some awesome stuff. Help a sistah out. Cheap, healthy, helpful.
That's a win-win-win right there, friends.
no scrubbing whatsoever. just a wet rag and the organic cleaner. p.s. yes, you can also add this to "proof dwija needs a bathroom reno", mkaythanxbye. |
Yippee!!!!! That's WAY more stretch/life than Mrs. Meyers (which I do love but is sorta pricey).
ReplyDeleteAnd to help a sista you know?! Perfecto!
2013 budget begins tomorrow. Then time to place an order!
Meanwhile, musing over the 12 photos...
I am so convicted because I just put cleaners in my cart and have no clue what they cost! Shame on me. Thanks for telling me about this stuff :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, there is like a whole Catholic subculture obsessed with Shaklee! My friend introduced me a few years ago and I want so badly to take the plunge with their vitamins, but haven't quite mustered reason enough to spend so much when I'm pretty happy with my current ones. This cleanser looks awesome, though...I may drink the Kool-Aid yet!
ReplyDeleteI had seriously never even heard of it until Lisa sent this to me. I am so out of it!
DeleteI heard of Shaklee several years ago via my crunchy mom group back in CA. I have yet to try it, though. Maybe this is a sign from the Holy Spirit! (KIDDING, people!) But I will probably still try it. :) Thanks for doing all the complicated mental math, Dwija!
ReplyDeleteI used Shaklee and even distributed for awhile. They are great cleaners. Have fun using them!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy son will be three next week.
ReplyDeleteI have called poison control FIVE times.
Raw ground beef, dawn dish soap, d-con RAT POISON!!!!!, hornet stings and something else that evades me....
And, I thought Windex solved everything? (props if you can name that movie)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding, right?
DeleteI need to try that stuff out. I really love Mrs. Meyers, but have a hard time justifying the price tag and is it just me, or doesn't the 7th Generation stuff just not work that well? Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dwija!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love Basic h2 (really all of the Get Clean line from Shaklee). It does everything. I wash my fruits and veggies, clean my dogs, bubble bath for the kiddo, takes sticky stuff off of things. I may make a superhero cape for my bottle. Seriously, if you haven't tried it, click on the link and order some from Lisa.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Glowing recommendation!
DeleteOh, wow. Math GENIUS. Cleaning GENIUS. Definitely looking into this.
ReplyDeleteAfter having a bottle of the concentrate for only 8 months, I still have half a bottle left....not sure when was the last time I went 8 months without buying cleaner. With three kiddos (one being only 18 months), we have to clean A LOT and now they can help! Oh, and if one of them decides to have a rain storm (via the spray bottle) in Legoland....no big deal, it only cost me a penny.
ReplyDeleteAnd then the legos are clean too. Winning!
DeleteThat is a pretty steep savings. Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteLove it! I clean with vinegar like it's m'job, so this is right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI thought Windex was safe! I LOVE Windex. Booooo! :( lol
ReplyDeleteThats amazing!!! but I am not sure I can part with my Clorox!! I love Clorox and the smell make me think its super duper clean :( Vinegar reminds me of pickles and then that makes me want to hop on the couch and eat a bowl full of popcorn and pickles.. ShakLee maybe I will give you a try.. I hope you smell deodorized...
ReplyDeleteIt has no smell at all, Marissa. If you like that chlorine smell, you'll have to stick with bleach :) BUT if you are sensitive to smells, it is perfect!
DeleteThe things that do smell have a really light, pleasant aroma. Although the laundry stuff (powder and liquid fabric softener) took me off guard- wow!! But once they go through the wash the clothes are super clean and the fragrance is super light! I want to try the dryer SHEETS next- they're actually biodegradable AND non-toxic.
Delete"MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING" ... Did I win the prize Rachel?
ReplyDeleteSo trying, thanks! BTW, we actually LIKE the vinegar smell around here, go figure.
ReplyDeleteJust saved this post... I may have to get some of this. I don't clean as much as I should... but seriously... saving over $900. That's insane. IN-SANE.
ReplyDeleteI've used Shaklee for a couple years now and LOVE it. Plus, my bottle of H2? Barely looks used. And we use it for ALL of our cleaning - degreaser, multipurpose, and windows. It's awesome:)
