First of all I was s-t-o-k-e-d to fit into this skirt this morning (Old Navy) because it means that soon ALL the clothes will fit and since Mary is nursing less frequently I might even start wearing my DRESSES again. Dresses! Yippee! Many trumpets blared from the heavens and so forth.
Second of all, I wanted to illustrate that almost everything I own is blue by wearing a blue sweater again for the
I kept tugging at it and adjusting it and if I am THINKING about my clothes while I'm at Mass then, yeah. I think that means I shouldn't wear them again.
Thirdly, something. (You guys know how I like things in threes.). Oh! The shirt. It's by a company called Cruel Girl and I bought it from a fab little store I used to work for back in CA. Click the link if you wanna stalk-me-in-retrospect.
But The Boots (Croft and Barrow via Kohls) are back and oh boy am I glad. Last week when the snow got inside the flats I was wearing I says to myself I says "This was a bad idea, woman."
Also, $0.99 belt as usual, and a pair of genuine freshwater pearl....no. No they are not. They are cheap pieces of plastic these earrings are. But they are dangly, so they get the thumbs up from me.
Oooooooh, today Mary went to Mass sans carseat carrier for the first time! Such a big rolly-poly baby she is getting to be.
And since this post was the boringest ever, here's a pic of What our Dog Wore Sunday.
Aren't you glad you're not our pet?
Um. That looks like a princess or queen cape. So no, I am not glad. I deserve a queen cape.
ReplyDeleteI think it may be a combination of the cut & color that doesn't do it for you ~ it will make good mittens if you're so inclined (and it's wool).
ReplyDeleteMittens! That is an awesome idea. Or a throw pillow! Could that work?
DeleteYeah! Mittens! You should only ever wear mittens! Make sure they're the right color, though, ok?
DeleteYes, totally! pinterest the throw pillow.
DeleteI love the earrings. I wish I could still wear cheap earrings. My ears will no longer have it and so no cute dangly pearls that are not pearls for me.
ReplyDeleteI hated my outfit today too. That's what I get for waiting to get dressed until right before time to leave and not allowing myself time to change after I realize how hideous my outfit is. I just compensated by throwing a cardigan over it even though it was really too warm for it.
A cardigan is like love- it covers a multitude of sins!
DeleteGreat earrings and I'd be thrilled to again fit into that skirt again too! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteUH, we have that EXACT cape! Never seen it on a dog, but it does make its way around our dress-up adventures.
ReplyDeleteI'd say it's the neckline of the sweater - not as flattering as the scoop neckline of the red one. I don't like those deep v-necks, either.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I think we're onto something here. Like- shallow v good; deep v bad, especially with the, ahem, "nursing proportions".
DeleteYou may be right. I think the color is lovely, and the sweater looked nice over the blouse.but, if it bugged you and you had to keep tugging, it's no good.
DeleteYeah, it's definitely the deep V. Just taking that sweater off would have made quite a difference. Since your nursing, it probably wouldn't work to belt the button-up at the natural waistline, but It would be a nice touch if you went without the sweater.
ReplyDeletewhatever! I think it's cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kaitlin! Thanks for being brave enough to show us what you wore, especially when you didn't like it!
ReplyDeleteYou do look cute! Xoxo
Girl, you crazy! You look great! Although the dog may be outshining you what with her royal attire. Where does one find a queen's cape for a dog?
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt and boot! As for the sweater...definitely a throw pillow. Nice and soft.
ReplyDeleteUm, I like it!!! The denim skirt + boots looks great and I like the layers.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Dwija, really...you look great. The skirt/boot/sweater combo is not one to mess with...seriously. Excited for you about fitting back into pre-baby clothes too. That always makes me want to dance when that happens. It looks like that won't happen for ME for a long, long time...but I look forward to the day that it will ;)
ReplyDeletevery cute.
ReplyDeleteI think this outfit is cute but I know how you feel. I've had a couple of WIWS outfits that didn't look or feel right and I could not wait to get out of them the minute we got home.
ReplyDeleteI love those dangle-y earrings!
All I know is that if I'm uncomfortable in my holy-crapola outfit at mass, my day is pretty much shot. And if i spend half or more of mass glowering at the flesh of my flesh, fruit of my womb excessively YAAAWWWNING and NOT covering his huge mouth ( he takes after his daddys side, I swear) altar server, kiss that Sunday goodbye. I feel like I need to go to mass again. Without my peeps.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I have never been able to find a button-up shirt that actually fits me and am way too cheap to get one tailored but seeing the sweater-shirt-skirt combo makes me think I ought to give it a second shot!
ReplyDeleteThe other striped oxford from that previous week is so comfy and wonderful and I think it's because it's a nice fabric from J. Crew combined with the cotton (not wool blend) of the orange sweater. Good luck!
DeleteI think you are too hard on the outfit, but I know about those certain things that I can never feel "right" in. Your dogs' coats are so beautiful, they look like speckled sunshine, the cape is overkill.
ReplyDeleteI think you looked adorable. Loved the color combo. Me and the deep v don't get along either though.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! The worst is when you wear an outfit that you think looks really good but in pics looks totally different to a party or some place where tons of pictures are being taken and then all of a sudden it's all over your FB. Wardrobe fail!
ReplyDeletePS - The dog cape. Brilliant!
I always struggle with the dress shirt/sweater combo. I feel like I always have a 50/50 shot at being comfortable in it or it looking good.
ReplyDeleteYou should certainly wear that outfit again!! Don't listen to the 30 crazy pics!! I really like it!!
ReplyDeleteAlso the dog cape-I like that too, very classy little pooch.
Ooo, I love analyzing outfits! I'm going to agree that it's all the sweater's fault...too deep, as noted, and also way too bunchy around the waist overtop of that shirt (a problem I'm always having), and also too striped to pair well with the striped shirt. AND the colour doesn't do anything special - you rock the richer tones. Other than that, a great piece... Ha!
ReplyDeleteI do really like the striped shirt / leather belt/ denim skirt combo, though. And the dangly earrings...but that should go without saying, shouldn't it?
DeleteYou tempt me to do a WIWS myself one of these days!
Ok... I thought you looked great. Let's not talk about what "fits" properly at this point as in exactly 20 min I'll be "overdue" and NOTHING fits... nothing. Love the boots. Wish I fit into boots. If I have to give an honest opinion, I liked the red sweater better than the blue but think you look fab either way.
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, you are so funny.
ReplyDeleteThe color of that sweater is one of my favorite colors ever. And it is very pretty with your coloring. The long earrings are awesome, and when will I finally wear boots with my skirts? Everyone is doing this, and I just do not feel stylish enough to try it! I may have said that before, and it's still true!
