Green Ninja! I Need You!

I'm about to commit bloging suicide, y'all.

Oh yes, you guessed right: it's time to talk about the weather.

One year ago, this was going on:

Just look at those snow pants!  Look at those boots!  Look at that bitter wind blowing!  Oh.  Wait.  Just kidding.  Hah.  It was 80 degrees.

And today? Here is that same fence, that same gate, this afternoon...

Uh, yeah.  This is not copacetic, you guys.  NOT. COPACETIC.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!  Spring! Y U No spring into my life like green ninja????  I feel like I'm a girl version of that dude on the Truman Show except instead of living on an enormous movie set I live inside an enormous snow globe.  If I could just snowshoe my way in a straight line far enough, I would smack into the glass.  And then I could take off one of said snowshoes and slam it against said glass and it would break and Bora Bora would be waiting for me on the other side.

I forgot to mention: my snow globe lives in Bora Bora.

Anyway, ever since the White Witch began her reign over the upper half of the U.S., I've been unable to think a coherent thought.  She has schneaky schneaky powers, people.

So instead I think I'm just going to try and turn a turtleneck into a crewneck and eventually I'll post an almost-tutorial for that camera bag-inator that I made because a lovely lady has requested and Lord knows I cannot deny the (reasonable) requests (that don't require too much effort on my part) of them lovely ladies.

Oh!  Speaking of lovely!  The Shabby Apple gc giveaway ends in 7 hours.  Go be winning.

  1. We are in a snow drought here in Maryland. No good snow for two winters! So just walk over here. It's no Bora Bora but I can sneak out without a coat at times.

  3. The green ninja alludes us too. He'll appear for a week, then vanish, leaving only frigid wind in his path. Boo.

  4. It's been so cold that I have been holding in my pee because I don't want to pull my pants down and sit on the cold seat. TMI?

  7. We're in the snow globe too, although I'm pretty sure this snow globe doesn't live in Bora Bora (I love that yours does!!! ). Looking out the window I was pretty sure that the snow was mocking me because it looked like it was falling and melting at the same time. But now it's worse because it's just falling. And falling. And falling.

  11. My husband asked me the other day if I would consider moving if he would ever get an offer to go elsewhere... and, um, he loves his current job so why is he saying this because 21 degrees and snow rolling off Lake Michigan the day before the official start of spring is not the way I roll? Oh, he's got cabin fever now, too! Finally, some company in that craaaazy house of loonies.

So ready for spring. They tell me Michigan have lovely summers. Mr. Mitten, you had better hold up your end of the bargain!

    2. p.s. Please ignore all subject-verb disagreements, etc. That's what happens when WINTER WON'T LEAVE US ALONE. It kills grammar!

    3. I had to laugh today, because I went for a run this evening (nice sunset, thank you snow for stopping) and I thought, "Those are nice mountains in the west... wait a second... that's a hundred feet of snow piled up by Lake Macatawa."

Easter? Fuhgetabouti. Let's see if those mountains disappear by Memorial Day!

  12. I'm in MI right now visiting family and was also less than enameled with yesterday's dumping of snow. Being from northern MN, I'm more than familiar with very white first days of "spring", but that doesn't mean I like it! I feel your pain.
