A Little Secret

Wanna know a secret? Sometimes my kids are a red. hot. mess.  See, usually I go through the seventeen thousand photos I take and try and post the cleanest ones- no food on the face, no stains on the clothes, charmingly mussed but not insane hair...you know, basically trying to convey a sense of "real" life without actually damaging my imagined reputation as a responsible mother and homemaker.

Welp, that all changes today.  Sorry, Mary.  The baby always gets the embarassing posts.  Says so in the bloggy manual.

Let's chat about what's happening here, shall we?  We shall.  First, one shall note the Christmas-themed pajama pants in the highly appropriate month of, of course, October.  Paired with said green pants is a lovely pink polka dot top, naturally.  Let's not forget the onesie, left unsnapped for a jaunty sort of external-loin-cloth look.  Mary completes her chic look with enormous striped slippers in the half-off position, a fine facial scar courtesy of falling off the pew and hitting her face directly on a corner of the missal holder in front of us during Mass on Sunday, and, the piece de resistance, a greasy mop of Luke Skywalker hair.

Wanna know other people's secrets?  Peruse the other linkers over at Clan-Donaldson, stat, my fellow nosey noserson.

  8. She's so cute. She can pull it off :) Just today after the third explosive diaper, I decided style no longer mattered and dressed the baby in whatever came to hand.

  11. "external loin cloth" made me laugh out loud - that's a regular occurrence in our house when Daddy doesn't notice it's a onesie (not a shirt) at diaper change....but hey, hooray for a diaper I didn't have to change :)

  13. But, the dimples....they make it work. :) We also sport the external loincloth look, ha! It's amazing that I'm so dang lazy that I can't be bothered to snap a onesie,,,

  14. My husband never, ever buttons a onesie, so we have this look going on a lot at our house. Or even better, he buttons it on the OUTSIDE of the pants. You'd think at this point the man would know how these things work, but then again, you would think at this point I would know how to fix my laptop when it crashes :) Guess we all have our strengths.

  15. We did Christmas pj's in JUNE because that's when they fit, lol. I bought size 18 months after Christmas last year when my little guy was still in 3 months stuff (because, ya know, he WAS 3 months) and by June he was into the 18 month stuff! It's okay though...I bought him 4th of July pj's that should fit in December. ;)
