Yeah.
A few weeks ago I was sure that I have a really healthy body image and that being super lumpy and squishy, especially while pregnant, doesn't bother me. And I guess it didn't. UNTIL TODAY.
Holy cow, you guys. I can't even bring myself to show you the worst of the pictures. I just can't. What you are about to see is the very best one of the whole bunch, yes, even considering the squinty eyes.
either 33.5 or 35.5 weeks of baby under that stretchy legging waistband |
dress: New York and co via Twice (it really is cute when I'm not pregnant, I promise.)
earrings: cheapy costume fun from Kohls.com
necklace: made by yours truly
watch: super special gift of fanciness from hubby the Christmas before Paul was born
bracelet: Avon maybe? Seriously. I buy weird things.
sandals: in store at Meijer, this season. Tres comfy. Wore these on Easter, but my photo was sans feet, so you'll have to use your imagination
I was trying to go for sort of a monochrome look. Blue on blue on blue on...black? You just can't win when you're 8 months prego is I think the motto of this story.
Also, do you like how my belly is overshadowing my feet up there? I just couldn't lean any further forward and still see through the viewfinder thingy. Could. Not.
Linking up with the lovely ladies at Fine Linen & Purple on this Divine Mercy Sunday. Saints Papas Johns, pray for me to stop being such a whiny whinerson!
I see a gorgeous woman full of LIFE! I can relate to the other stuff, too, but trust me, you are glowing!
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous and don't let anybody, including yourself, tell you different! You are carrying a life! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou do look lovely, Dwija. You make pregnancy attractive, and that is not easy to do!
ReplyDeleteYou're so beautiful Dwija! And seeing how great you look with your growing bump actually makes me feel about 100 times better each week when I look at the weekly picture and feel like I'm getting way too pregnant looking way too fast!
ReplyDeleteOh Cammie, I'm SO glad. As long as I know something is helping someone, it makes it so much easier to do :)
DeleteDude, you look pregnant.. so yeah, you're round about the middle area.. but you are radiant. so stuff it! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you are totally gorgeous! Keep rocking that beautiful belly! (And easy for me to say....I was whining on my blog about how large I look 17 days postpartum. )
ReplyDeleteYou look great...and seriously, I'm super jealous of your big belly while pregnant. You are ALL belly, which makes it easier to lose. When I was pregnant with my youngest, I remember trying a dress like that on and gasping in horror at how my butt was almost as big as my belly...it was scary.
ReplyDeleteI tried on bridesmaid dresses yesterday while my sisters listened to me make self-deprecatory comments about my post-twins body and today I thinned through something like 3000 photos on my computer (including some crazies of myself a wee larger than I thought...) and am now wholeheartedly committed to getting healthy and losing weight. Because ouch. But not about me.... not about me at all...
ReplyDeleteYou look great! And you're glowing! And you're amazing! And I didn't even notice the bra line until you pointed it out!
Your body is doing what it was created to do!!! You are a beautiful momma!! Have you read this article?? I refer to it when I'm struggling with body image!! http://www.catholicvote.org/what-makes-a-body-beautiful/http://www.catholicvote.org/what-makes-a-body-beautiful/
ReplyDeleteI just have to say, that it is NOT FAIR that you can see ankle bones!!! Mine are only visible for about 15 minutes right after I wake up in the morning. You look great!
ReplyDeleteBTW - I am 36 weeks and normally can see my ankle bones...and wear my wedding ring. Looking forward to the post-baby water retention loss! :-)
DeleteYou look so wonderful and make growing a baby look easy ;) also, I love LOVE that necklace!
ReplyDeleteYou are bearing within your body a precious child of God. And you are gorgeous while doing it. Enough said.
ReplyDeleteYou and I are in the same week of pregnancy, and I have come to the conclusion that no matter what the pregnancy weight change, it is a little traumatic. I think it has to do with the changes just being so drastic that you can't see anything but the baby anymore! Where did I go?! Anyways, I'm looking forward to losing this baby weight together with you
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to how you're talking about yourself in this post. During my last pregnancy someone would compliment me and I would think, "Puhleeze how could they lie to my face?" haha! Let me just assure you that all of the lovely compliments here and so genuine and you look truly amazing. Trust us :)
ReplyDeleteOne "bright side" that I try to look at when I am pregnant is that my belly hides how also-huge-but-still-smaller-than-the-belly my chest is. It grows more out of control with each pregnancy and nursing gig. Have you ever done a post on swimwear for nursing/postpartum/pregnant mamas? Tonight my google search of "postpartum swimwear large chest" was not super helpful. I thought maybe - if decent swimwear exists in these categories, Dwija (or those who love her) might be a good person to ask!
ReplyDeleteAnd you look good, by the way! :)
DeleteThe navy and black looks great! And so do you. This is my first pregnancy and I had some major horror moments last week (streaky red stretch mark on my right hip, scary high number on the scale at the doctor's office, and the start of varicose veins on both calves). Anyways, it'll all be worth it when we meet our babies soon!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! Though I definitely remember the whale feeling at that stage of pregnancy, so whine away!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was super-pregnant, my husband used to smile lovingly and say that I looked like a ship under full sail. There's a reason they say sails are "bellied out," you know! You look wonderful. Really.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful and twin-ny. I had surprise twins at home a few years ago, and judging by your last baby bellies, I'm guessing twins.....what do I get if I'm a good guesser?
ReplyDeleteStefanie in IL
Stefanie in Illinois, did you really? Oh my gosh. I am so curious for details about how that happened. You should email me so I can pick your brain!!! dwija at houseunseen dot com :)
DeleteYou look beautiful & blessed, Dwija!
ReplyDeleteYou look super cute! And even though the photo isn't bad, the outfit really looks better in real life, so don't worry about it. However, you need to quit this 33.5 wk or 35.5 wk DENIAL!!!! It's ok, dwija, I was wrong about the foot thing in P-mans ultrasound. Embrace the fact that you are blessed to have a shorter gestation than you thought!
ReplyDeleteYou look pregnant, exactly like you're supposed to at 8 months! If you looked like a perfect supermodel, you'd just make the rest of the female race feel badly and that wouldn't be very Christian of you, now would it? Besides, what you don't know is that non-pregnant people like me stare at that picture and the first thought is, "Aw...I wish I was pregnant too!" We're not looking at the legging seam (haha!). Promise!
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful and happy :)
Dwij - you look BEAUTIFUL! You're growing a BABY in there for goodness sake! You really are gorgeous right now. Celebrate that belly!
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful. We are our worst critics. Honestly, you are ALL belly. No biggie at all. But, for real though-- that is one baby? For sure? :)
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see a picture of myself, I ask that same question! ;)
DeleteHey Dwija, Here's a story to make you laugh: When my younger sister was pregnant with her first, she got pretty big, even though she's tall and thin. Our 5-year-old niece said, "Are you having a baby?" Sister: "Yes." Niece: "Is that why your butt is so big?" Sister: (Pees pants laughing and falls over.)
ReplyDeleteAlso, when I had my first, I thought I looked pretty dang fine. I was amazed that I was "all belly." My then-too-stupid-to-know-better husband said, "Hmmm (noncommittal noises)." Me: "Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about." A week after I had the baby, I happened to catch glimpse of my backside in the master closet. "Oh no! You were right! My butt is HUGE." Him: "I tried to tell you." Me: "Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about." Moral of story: Only I am allowed to notice that my butt has gotten bigger. Anyone else may notice when it has gotten smaller. :)
We're praying for the beautiful Borobia Family!
