As you know, my guess is also May 23rd and it will be so awesome when (not if) he is born on Friday, May 23rd. 3 of my children are born on the 23rd: 5/23, 6/23, and 12/23. Additionally, my niece and nephew are 8/23 and 4/23. 23 is obvi. the tops.

And this is not strictly numerical, but I am also secretly super-pleased that I have managed to have each of my babies in a different month. And it was close a couple of times as I have a kid born on the 1st of the month and a kid born on the 31st. They really made me sweat it out there! :)
So far we've got February, March, May, June, July, August, December. So far my birth kids all have been born in even years (2008, 2010, 2012) and here we are about to finalize an adoption of our oldest in ....you guessed it.....2014 :) So clearly this means I can't possibly get pregnant again until about April of next year so I can have a 2016 baby, cause that would just make sense :) If I get pregnant before then I might be a teeny bit disappointed just because of breaking our even-numbered years pattern.

Also, all my birth kids have birthdays on even days (6-28-08, 11-12-10, 11-30-12). Just because he was two months early, had had broken waters for five weeks and was in distress. You have to have priorities, people! I also loved that a while back my children, who were born in 2002, '04, '08 and '10, were aged 2, 4, 8 and 10. And yes, before anyone asks, there was supposed to be a 6-yr-old born in '06, but it turns out Mother Nature is no respecter of OCD mummies. I was in labor all day March 7th with #1 and was pretty bummed he waited another 6 hours because my mom's bday is 2/7, her brother's is 1/7, and her mom's is 5/7, and another 7th would have been great.

All 6 of us (husband, 3 birthed boys, 1 in-utero boy) have even-year birthdays, which I find satisfying because we all have odd/even birthdays the same years.

It's a big year for our extended family because my MIL turns 60, FIL turns 80, SIL turns 30, and son turns 10.

I've liked the fact that my boys' birthday months and days both get bigger consecutively. Mar-Mar-July, 8-12-24. Odd months, even days (multiples of 4). It feels like they get older in the right order, no one gets to jump ahead. Except New Baby is going to mess up at least the months since he'll be born somewhere between late May and very early July, but almost certainly June. May 28th would let me keep the increasing dates/mults of 4/odd months. But I probably shouldn't hope for a 36 1/2 weeker just for that. June 28th would be almost as good, but 41 weeks sounds worse.

When my first was due Feb 22nd, I had a list of all the potential fun birthdays: Valentines 2/14 husband's grandpa 2/15, husband 2/17, husband's cousin 2/18, husband's cousin 2/20, my grandpa 2/23, sister's husband 2/28, leap day 2/29, my half-birthday 3/1, fun numbers in Europe 3/2/04, another 7th on 3/7. But no, he let them all go by and came 3/8/04.

I was bummed to have 2 babies due within a week of my half-birthday but neither hit it.

My birthday is the 1st of a month and I think because of that, I prefer single-digit birthdays and always remember those better than others, especially in the 20's. I can never keep birthdays in the 20's straight. It took me 3 months to remember that my 3rd son was born on the 24th because he was born at 1am and it felt like it was still the 23rd to me. One of my 3 nieces was born on Feb 1st and I make a bigger deal about it because I like that date the best. All my other nieces and nephews (5) are born in the 20's/30 and I mix them all up.

Yes, I have a few number OCD issues, yes I do.AmyRobynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13264454717815499514noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6378450001604002654.post-6099797460938657572014-05-09T22:41:12.142-04:002014-05-09T22:41:12.142-04:00Wow, those birthdays are the best! It pays to be oblivious, I guess. May 23rd is my mom's birthday and she is pretty much the greatest human alive, so I'll go with that. Are guessing times? If so, I'll go with 5:15 p.m. Weight: 8 lbs 7 oz. Bonus points: he will be as cute as a button, I just know it.

As to your number obsession, I love it. Mine is not as mathematical, but here goes. I love odd numbers, they're my favorite because they're odd like me. All my babies were born in odd years: '05, '07, '09, '11 (until this little in-utero one) and 3 out of 4 have odd birthdays, 7th, 9th, 11th. The only even one is a fluke though, because I got the stomach flu which put me into labor almost 2 weeks early. Zeke was born 5/11/11 at 11:11 a.m. He might be my favorite child for that reason. And, if that's not picky enough, I also decided that I simply would not be delivering another baby in the middle of the night and I simply had to be well-rested, because labor takes up way too much energy for me to chase a two year old all day and then have to labor at night. Oddly enough, I managed to have the baby on a day I deemed convenient, early enough in the day to make sure the pediatrican would see the baby that day so we could go home the next. It was a neurotic person's dream come true. Of course, my plans to actually go to soccer games,Mass and teach CCD last weekend just days after delivering were ultimately too unrealistic even for me to pull off, but that's ok. I'm just happy the little guy got here 8 days early.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08353696433987975754noreply@blogger.com
