Prayers for a special family

A few days ago, I decided that I wouldn't post anything until something exciting was happening with baby and his pending arrival.  I just couldn't get myself out of that when-will-I-be-in-labor-for-real headspace and force myself to talk about other things.  And see a long time ago I decided that if I had to force myself to talk about something, then I wasn't doing the work of the Holy Spirit and this blog can be nothing if it's not that.

Well, now I have something that I don't have to force myself to talk about.  In fact, I can't not talk about it, so I know I must.

Lena is a homeschooling mama of 6 from California.  You can find her blog JOY{filled} family here .  Recently she and her husband made the exciting decision to follow God's call to a simpler life for each other and their and children.  But just as they were set to make their move, having cancelled their lease and left current employment, the entire thing fell through.  Please read the entire story on Melody's blog right here.

This situation is near and dear to my heart.  For those of you who have known me for two years or more, you know that we went through a very trying time financially due to lack of employment even though we felt strongly that we were still on the path God intended for us.  It's an incredibly trying position to be in both spiritually and materially (to put it mildly!) and in retrospect it was YOU who got us through those rocky times.

Without the generosity of all of you, the Church on Earth, the body Christ, both spiritually and financially, I don't know how we would have come out on the other side of that tunnel still smiling.  So I'm asking you to take just a few moments to read their story.  It won't take long.  Add them to your prayer list.  And if you can, give a little (the donate buttons are part of the story) to help with their very real corporal needs as they try and find their way to the end of their own tunnel.

Thank you, friends.  For this and for everything.

  1. Saw a new post on your blog and thought maybe you had your baby! Thanks for sharing this link. Blog world is cool that way - that we can meet this Sister in Christ though your post. My heart goes out to them and hope my little bit can help.

  2. Dwija - I can't tell you what this means to me personally. I love this family so much. But I can see that you already really DO know what this means to them... because you just know. I've been watching your blog and waiting for your little one to make a grand entrance so I was on top of this post. It wasn't your baby but it was still pretty awesome to read. :) I'm praying for you and that baby extra tonight. For a peaceful and joyful delivery. God bless you and your beautiful family. Melody

  3. Praying for Lena and her family!

  4. God bless them, and you, for sharing their story!

  5. Praying for them. This is SO what the body of Christ is for... and what is awesome is that THIS is what makes the internet/blog world so powerful: when we can lift brothers/sisters in prayer and support them even if we will likely never meet them this side of heaven.

  6. This story touched my heart in so many ways.
asking St.Jude to pray for this family.
    Thank you for sharing.

  7. How is your friend (Joy filled family) doing? I can't get them out of my thoughts...
