20 weeks! 20 whole weeks and we have still not seen Pointy Bird on ye olde ultrasound a single time. I swear I am calling that scheduling office myself today and....doing...something that will result in the appointment being made. Yes, something for sure. As soon as I find their number.
You know what I love? Comparing bellies. Comparing my belly against other people's bellies, sure. But mostly comparing my belly now against bellies of the past. And guess what? I've got three whole 20 weeks bellies in a row to compare up in here for your viewing enjoyment. Fun times! I'm even wearing the exact same outfit today that I was wearing two years ago when we took the MaryBellyPhoto so we can make the most neurotic comparisons possible. Yay! Neurotic!
(also note the progression from camera phone to point and shoot to dslr. And the hair changes. And the progressively larger belly. This is fun.)
Cecilia in utero at 20 weeks:
In belly Mary, also 20 weeks:
And now, the piece de resistance, PointyBird, who is 20 big ol' weeks old today:
So far at all two midwife appointments I've had, the uterus has measured two weeks ahead of schedule, whereas with Mary it measured exactly correct every time. But my dates...they are definitely not wrong.
So.
Ultrasound por favor?

Ohmygosh! YOU're the one having the twins!!!
ReplyDeleteBut is it really big enough to be TWO babies? I'm thinking I'd have to be twice as big as last time ;) Probably this whole situation can be blamed on bacon.
DeleteNope! My sister didn't get astronomical until like week 30. Till then she really looked like a normal pregnancy! You look great!
DeleteYeah, I was only measuring a couple weeks ahead. And was certainly not twice as big as with a singleton ;)
DeletePLEASE go get an ultrasound! I can't take it!!! Surprise twins are awesome buuuuut for your sake I'm hoping that you just have a lot of extra amniotic fluid in there ;)
I have no experience. But I side with Rosie. (And NO I'm not saying you are huge!) The suspense is killing me!
DeleteBeautiful! I can't wait to hearthe gender! Your hair in the Cecilia pic is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBig boy baby, I'm guessing! Mary looks much higher up also - this baby and Cecilia were definitely lower. You look awesome, as usual!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I vote boy...my 20-week boy belly was significantly larger than my 20-week girl belly. :) (Which didn't mean a whole lot in the end-there was only a difference of 4oz between the two. I am destined to give birth to exceptionally late and exceptionally large babies). Keep those pictures coming!
ReplyDeleteOh dear goodness my uteruuuuuus - baby fever is taking oveeeeer!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that gets baby fever when seeing pics not just of babies, but of pregnant women? I really enjoyed being pregnant - anytime I get to wear pants with a stretchy panel for my tummy, I'm IN.
You know you aren't. Baby fever over here big time. Dweej is just lucky she lives in Michigan or I would be stealing that bebe for shuuuuuuuurrrrrre.
DeleteYou're beautiful, D. Just gorgeous. Keep growing that baby. :)
I've got massive baby fever. It started as soon as Ami was BORN this time!
DeleteWow I know you've been calling your belly pointy but I just thought it looked like a prego belly. But compared to your previous bellies this time around is definitel pointy. Kid's got a way of saying "look at me" already.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can't wait to hearthe gender! Your hair in the Cecilia pic is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you! I love the newest picture; hard to see your face but the picture is very beautiful; and your hair looks beautiful in the 2014 picture... ~ shaped and long. ... may God bless your baby...
ReplyDeleteI'm just thinking it's a boy, and a big chunky one at that! The rest of you looks amazing, so go you! I think I'm past the point of "cute" belly shots and we're in the "nobody needs to see this monstrosity" arena at almost 32 weeks :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also voting boy. Girls "hug" their mother and boys point out like a...well, you know. Good luck on the ultrasound appt - I don't know how you can wait. I had to make my appt at the end of my last appt and I can't wait for the time to pass; I love that midway ultrasound.
ReplyDeleteI think this year is the cutest one :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love x3!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting an appointment.
They need to do your anatomy scan soon. I wonder why they didn't schedule that at your last appointment? I hope you can find out the gender soon. I do wonder if you are having a boy, since you are carrying the baby differently.
ReplyDeleteI know! It's tricky because we're using our homebirth midwife again, so the scheduling and stuff is different from standard. Make me a little cray cray.
DeletePointy Bird is a boy.
ReplyDeleteExcept- I could have told you by your pictures that Mary was for sure a girl, but Ceci's picture is throwing me for a major loop. I'm just going to chalk it up to the fact that it was your SoCal days, and leave my prediction as "boy" for PB
You rock the belly, Dweej. Get that ultrasound. Inquiring minds want to know!! And, for the record, my bellies keep getting bigger, something about the absence of belly muscles and zero pelvic floor. Fun times, it is. Happy growing.
ReplyDeleteOh Dwija, I love it. I love all three of those beautiful baby bellies! (wait, is that weird to say?) I am saying boy as well, btw.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You rock the short haircut-along with the others, let’s be honest. I wish I had your bone structure…whatever that means :)
I'm voting for twins ;)
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! My son was 10 lbs, 1 oz, and I had a similar belly as you. Though, I will say I was not as slender all around!

ReplyDeleteYou look FAB!!!
ReplyDeleteOh sweet. I love seeing the progression from one baby to another! I'll have to remember to do that (hopefully) someday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
here in brazil e get 6 or 7 ultrasounds per prgnancy. 7 weeks, then 12, then 16, then 23, then 30 weeks, then 1 or 2 more towards due date, plus two different exams by the last weeks, that can be repeated every other week from 34 weeks on... AND people STILL complain that they cant get a weekly ultrassound!! I bet they are not twins. PointyBaby belly is just a littl bit bigger than the previous ones, but that the 6th time your belly is being stretched, right? I get that big into my 20th week too. And i don't have twins.! Have you picked names for boy or girl yet? I`m always curious about names!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right, Mari! Maybe I'll have my first 10 lb baby. Eeeeeeeeeeek....
DeleteGreat belly shots but I enjoyed seeing your different hair styles. I like the first one with that short haircut the best. It is really cute on you. =)
ReplyDeleteThe bellies are so different! They all look like the corresponding children though. Ceci's belly is so sassy looking. Mary's looks like she's going to be a ham. And this new baby? This new baby will be quite sharp.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, you're absolutely adorable in every picture. I LOVE your hair in the top pic. It makes me want to cut mine so bad. Bellies are tricky. I've had boys, twins, and a 10 pounder, so I'm all sorts of confused over here.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteMy son (bebe number four) measured a week ahead at my 20- week sonogram. And, like you, I know my dates were right. He came on the date the sonogram projected, which was about nine days early for my period, and was nine pounds, five ounces. Have fun! ;-)
When I had my first baby, I was in size 6 jeans until I was about 7 months pregnant. No lie.
ReplyDeleteThen came babies 2, 3, 4&5 were BOGO, 6, and when 7 came? I was in maternity pants three days pregnant.
I'm going with a boy for this one.
