Kuntry-rific Play

Because I am a slacking procrastinator (there's nothing as productive as the last minute, friends) I never plan ahead for the Theme Thursday posts.  This is probably why it's also good that I don't host my own regular link-up or anything.  I'd be all "Oh, was that today?  Think anyone will notice?"  Honest.  So lame.

Anyway.  Thankfully the theme today is "play" so I walked outside and decided to take a picture of the first kid I saw.

Well, the first kid I saw was just sitting in a chair eating an apple and since this is my game and I do what I want, I CHANGED the rule
(rebel that I am) and took some shots of this little dude instead.  Maybe put on some sunglasses so his newly bared legs don't blind you, m'kay?

Not sure what's going on here.  Maybe giving the tiny ride-on tractor a pep talk?  Maybe yelling at it for becoming too small? Singing it a lullaby?  You decide.

Yep, that's a boy sized snow shovel being used for not-snow.  I try not to get involved unless I have to, ya know?

And now we're raking the not grass.  I couldn't hear his internal monologue, but pretty sure it has something to do with dinosaurs.

p.s. Have you ever seen a more kuntry-rific yard?  Zoinks.  I'm embarrassed that I'm not embarrassed.

p.p.s. Check out a bunch more play pics here and join in why doncha?

  1. That is what play is SUPPOSED to look like.

  2. Digging in the dirt is the best type of play.

  3. Glad to hear that the ride-on vehicles are being properly motivated.

  4. Love it! Dinosaurs and tractor lullabies. (And green grass. Our glaciers have begun receding, leaving lakes and mud flats in their wake! Fun for play time, yes, but not when trying to reach the cars to go somewhere while not looking like mud-monsters.)

  5. Ah yes, the not grass. We grow that real good around here.

  6. Speaking as one who has absolutely zero sq feet of private outdoor play area for kids, I am very jealous of these photos, blinding legs or no. I guess you could say the not-grass is always greener.

  7. I'm loving the white legs with the sandals. My son wears shorts if it's above 50 degrees. I also try not to get involved unless I have to. :-)
