Blueberry Picking Photo Dump

In honor of Sarah at Amongst Lovely Things, who I've been praying for all day today (how does one manage newborn twins when you already have four kids running around the house? Hopefully she'll let us in on her secret someday), some photos shot in manual mode today for her not-right-now Manual Mode Monday link-up.

After the most beautiful weekend in the WORLD, jackets in August.  What the what?

Happy boy

All you chil'ren...who're independent...throw your hands up at me....

    1. I know! Shorts and flip flops all weekend, high of 69 today. We could have lived without them of course, but the first jacket day is always exciting :)

  3. Pretty pictures!
Check out Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake on allrecipes.com. (sorry, I still don't know how to turn stuff into a link... I'm next to useless on this world wide web, I know.) Anyway, the recipe... Your morning java will thank you for this addition! (It's an unhealthy dessert disguised as a breakfast food. Ka-ching!)

    They sure do.

And I am jealous of the jackets. We are literally months away from first jacket day here.

  11. Yum blueberries!!!! We like to freeze blueberries and then use them in smoothies (just blend with yogurt). Mostly, we just love to eat them...I may or may not have been known to eat an entire quart by myself in one sitting.

    1. And don't let the word cheesecake scare you. It's not really a cheesecake, more like a "blueberry buckle."

  17. Oh this just looks like so much fun! We never really did any kind of berry picking when I was growing up but I've always wanted to try it! These photos have inspired me! (Seeing the yummy blueberries probably didn't hurt at all either tho) I think I know what I'll mention to my husband next time he asks me what I want to do this weekend :) I hope you are well and know that you've been in my heart and prayers!

  18. Such beautiful pictures! The blueberries look amazing as well. Mmmm, aside from everyone else's recipes above...you could just freeze them and use them for smoothies. We love ourselves some smoothies over here ;)

  23. I like to freeze some -- I mix up a blueberry pie filling/blueberry crisp filling, put it in a gallon ziplock & freeze it flat. It's usually 5 cups of blueberries, a couple spoonfuls of flour & sugar, and toss . . . so not rocket science/Martha Stewart.

  25. Jam! I love making blueberry jam because one batch makes a zillion little jars. I just use the recipe from the low-sugar Sure-Jell pectin box. Soooooo good.
